Description

If you leave Outlook running and close the lid on on the laptop or just let it go to sleep for a significant period (say overnight), the Outlook Connector almost always "hangs" when the PC wakes. The mailbox is not updated and the Connector just "sits" with an orange box with "!". If you try to do anything with Outlook it will hang and display the not responding message. The only option is to go into Windows Task Manager and kill Outlook. The Cache Manager normally terminates too but sometimes needs to be killed. Restart and all is well until the next time. This issue has been annoying me in the background for a few years but I finally decided to post it here.

HI,

See below in red.

As mentioned this has been a niggle for a few years, with various
versions of points 1 to 4 below. The latest scalix server rebuild
(sever box died) was in November last year.

More recently I had to play around with my Outlook profile at I tried to
add an Outlook.com email in addition to the scalix and it all went
wrong. I tried a couple of text profiles too but in the end had no
choice but to delete the profiles and start over. Everything is back to
normal (without said Outlook.com email added) and the hanging issue too.

Thanks for your help with this.

Gary

Known unresolved issue for now. Please close Outlook and start it again after sleep (hibernate)
