Scalix Connect translation to pt_BR

Description
Hello everybody,
Because we will start having more end users using Scalix Hosting Edition now here in Brazil, our ISP friends are kindly requesting that we translate Scalix Connect into pt_BR. For instance, the image below shows some options in English, that the Brazilian middle man would have problems to understand — only a very small portion of the population in Brazil is proficient in English:
I can do this translation quite fast, but I need some guidance from your side to be able to do it. I also don't know whether Scalix Connect is already structured for multilanguage support (hope it is).
Can you help me on that?
Thanks!

Hello guys,
As promised, I am attaching Scalix Connect translation to Brazilian Portuguese to this message. I did the translation with all possible care, using a professional tool (RC-WinTrans11
), but once there were almost 2000 single items to translate and I needed to resize practically all dialogs and windows, so that the text in pt_br
would fit into the available space, I would like to kindly ask you to check whether everything is on the right place, OK?
I need to have that Scalix Connect package in pt_br
generated as fast as possible, because customer BRHC (see issue #60975) is eagerly awaiting for that (and making a lot of pressure on myself). So, even if there's small glitches and representation problems, please generate the package and send it to me, so that the customer can see that we are investing a lot on the system due to our partnership with them.
I also translated Scalix Rules Wizard. All packages (Scalix Connect RC file and Scalix Rules Wizard HTML/XML/XSL files) are included as in the original localization kit, with exception that I changed the original file name from resen.rc
into resptbr.rc
, because this seemed logical to me. I also moved all the files to a folder called Scalix_Connect_ptbr
and did all the translation work there. You will certainly know how to work with those files in order to generate the Scalix Connect and Scalix Rules Wizard in pt_br
properly. The ZIP package with all I described above is attached to this message.
If you have any questions or if I forgot/missed something, please let me know.
Best!

- File sclxptbr.xml sclxptbr.xml added
Hello guys,
I just finished translation of the Scalix Connect installation wizard (see XML file attached).
Points of care:¶
- Line 746 (711 in the original XML file in English): I didn't translate the expression 'Your Product Name' because there was a directive stating 'SYSTEM_GENERATED' just beside the original XML entity, and I suspect this string is automatically replaced by the actual name of the product. If I was mistaken, please, replace the expression above with 'Nome do seu produto';
- Line 815 (780 in the original XML file in English): I didn't translate 'Fldr', because it looked like some reserved word to me. I don't know how to translate it, once it is a contracted form of 'Folder', what translates to 'Pasta' in Portuguese. I don't think I should translate 'Fldr' into 'Pst' using the same abbreviation rational, because 'Pst' has a total different meaning within the Outlook context;
- Line 834 (799 in the original XML file in English): I didn't translate 'SCALIX-ON' into 'SCALIX LIGADO', because this looked like some reserved string. If this was a mistake, please change it accordingly;
- Line 837 (802 in the original XML file in English): I didn't translate 'SCALIX-OFF' into 'SCALIX DESLIGADO', because this looked like some reserved string. If this was a mistake, please change it accordingly;
- Lines 849 to 851 (814 to 816 in the original XML file in English): I translated the string 'NewFeature1' into 'NovoRecurso1'. As it looks like something that was generated automatically, I don't know whether I should have kept it in English or actually have translated it. Please, if this was a mistake, translate it back to 'NewFeature1'.
I included as usual a BSD (3 Clause) license as a comment in the beginning of the file, what increased the number of lines of the file in 35 lines.
Please, check whether everything is OK and generate the new Scalix Connect installation file, so that I can send it to the customer.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best!

Hello guys,
New version of Scalix Connect:- Rules Wizard fixed for characters with accents, which were changed into their counterparts using
&xxx;
entities. This was necessary due to CP1242 Windows encoding problems; - Small fixes on
resptbr.rc
(string viewports resized in order to accommodate whole strings).
Best!
