Description

Robert reported an issue where he creates an invitation for a calendar that is automatically moved into other timezone/

He created a Test and Test2 invitation on 13.04.2016 from iPhone, connected via ActiveSync on madeit.com at both appointments he set fixed timezone VIENNA see image after syncing no timezone on entry.

After some time passes the following happens:
Server changes the timezone now to NYC time. Then the appointment is synced again with the phone and appointment is moved or gone.

Exception if outlook connector is used then it works properly.

Hi,

FYI....

I don't have issue of changing time zone for appointment/invitation, tested on my windows mobile Lumia 640 OS: Windows Phone 8.1 update 2.

Can we check for adjustment on Daylight Savings Time ?

example :
CET is now CEDT, British time is now BST. (not GMT)
(Central Europe Time vs Central Europe Daylight Time)

US EST is now EDT, CST is now CDT, PST is now PDT.....

regards, kumar

PS : a couple days ago I was in a conf call with Pascal and some folks in the US. They said - the call was at 830pm my time, I did not know daylight savings started in the US and I thought - its at 930 pm my time.

It seems like another user in the forum had a related problem.

Alex told me, that AS fills up timezone in case of this property is empty. That is wrong. In Android and iOS I can tell the sytem to leave timezone blank, also in MAPI (by default). If server sets the timezone automatically, then it's clear for me what happens here.

Please remove that in AS. Do not change properties. Do not change timezone. Do not fill up properties if they are empty. In case of that, if you need a property being set, do this in sources, otherwise this will not work.

BTW, MAPI leaves all properties empty if they are not used/needed. If you fill those properties with default values, we will have lot of problems on both sides. PLEASE don't do that.

In Android and iOS I can tell the sytem to leave timezone blank,

no its not true. maybe for some devices yes. all most all versions puts TimeZone . If you don't specify them it does not mean that device does not set it. - it can set from your phone settings and not ask you.

Alex told me, that AS fills
